What could be better than FREE access to special collections of resources needed for educational improvement? The NICI Portals are a great addition to the Library, like reading rooms and wings, with a focus on the themes and issues of education. As Portals, each special collection is a window to the world's resources, using state-of-the-art semantic web technology to find and organize things as you use them! 		 

By "resources" we mean all forms of digital information about the valuable assets of your organization - the people, expertise, knowledge, publications, services, and materials - that you want others to find and use.

The Portals are organized by professional communities - expert groups - who share a common interest and commitment to educational improvement. Groups like the Urban Network to Improve Teacher Education, the Great Cities Universities, the Virtual Professional Development School Consortium, and others are helping NICI create and maintain these high quality collections of specialized resources. The collections currently available include:
